YA KWANG DAI PAI DONG

Crab Tung Hoon in such a Big Plate
Eh, that was for you to remember this rainy day in 2008, at a corner coffee shop with all your lunch and jogging kakis
Saturday, 23rd August 2008Saturday, 23rd August 2008Saturday, 23rd August 2008709 Geylang Road (Lorong 37, after Paya Lebar Road Junction)Singapore 389624Opens Daily 11am - 11pmJason Tan Tel: 67476631 Hp: 98170006Before we proceed, we picked up the family members of one of them at their home in East Coast to which we simply admired from the car. Such fun times can never be repeated. Nothing like having good kakis for nice food and round up with smooth coffee.Had to call Khim, fellow ieater to check if Ya Kwang is open for lunch and thanks for this saving grace that I managed to get thro to her for the information that it's open. Yes, Ya Kwang opens from 11am to 11pm, can you imagine the long hours of operation?Had to call Khim, fellow ieater to check if Ya Kwang is open for lunch and thanks for this saving grace that I managed to get thro to her for the information that it's open. Ya Kwang Dai Pai Dong is the unofficial home of ieaters and upon arrival, met up with Jason the owner and introduced myself; he seemed to recognise JENCOOKS by name..hahaha.
In no time, a big serving plate of noodles with clams was served to our surprise.
This was followed by Penang Char Kway Teow, Crab Tung Hoon and Beef cubes (sirloin) and when every dish was whipped and completed cleaned out by us, he knew we did not have enough and there are young guys amongst us with big appetites. We needed another dish and he offered to prepare immediately and we just have to wait what is the dish for young man. It was chicken wings joints, well coated and deep fried to everyone's liking.
Jason joined us occasionally to chit chat . It was certainly a meal we will not forget for that true chef's recommendation of dishes that never fails to challenge any tastebud that a colleague kept saying such good food despite being full to the hilt.
Nice lunch, nice company and nice coffee prepared by Jason that we could not believe that Geylang offers such scrumptious and delicious food. The impeccable service from Jason was also admirable.

Ya Kwang is truly an institution in Geylang and we hope that Jason continue to dish up new creations to excite our tastebuds.

Ya Kwang Dai Pai Dong
It was raining heavily and famished from this morning bowling tournament, we headed to Geylang Lorong 37 coffee shop Ya Kwang Dai Pai Dong undeniably the best in Geylang or Singapore for whatever dish it offers ranging from kurobuta pork to shabu shabu to Penang Char Kway Teow to czezhar Crab Tung Hoon. Interestingly, Ya Kwang also serve Kway Chap, Deep Friend Da Chang Tou, Kong Bak Pau...what else they dont have?

Without dishing out any menu, he offered to prepare a table for 7 hungrybears according to his recommendation. My concern, when chef recommends it must be expensive cos it's their signature dish and I raise my worry, to which Jason laughingly replied "they didnt tell you that I am cheap?" and that puts me back at ease to just wait for his banquet to roll out as he quickly disappears to prepare for us.

Best dish is the Crab Tung Hoon

Stir Fry Sirloin Cubed Beef
