The Dim Sum Buffet at Jade Restaurant is available on Saturdays,Sundays and Public Holiday and it starts from 11.30am to 2.30pm. The popularity has spread by word of mouth and today it commands such a presence in town famed for it's weekend spread of delectable dim sum buffet. The Cantonese Restaurant continues to experience full house bookings and you have to book at least 2-3mths ahead.
Under Chef Leong Chee Yen's skillful creation, specially handcrafted dim sum of fine food quality are intricately prepared that every morsel of the dim sum is an artwork best admired before putting in your mouth. It's so delicate that the 52 different varieties of dim sum and dishes prepared by his award-winning culinary teams kept the restaurant busy satisfying many tastebuds.
At $28++ for the ala-carte buffet lunch with a spoilt for choice menu of 23 types of dim sum, 8 types of appetiser, 4 types of soup, 8 types of rice/noodles/congee and 9 types of dessert is simply value to dine at a top end restaurant of a five star hotel.
The 23 types of dim sum boast of unique and expensive ingredients such as baby abalone on siew mai, crab meats, sharkfin and scallops and truffle though they are miniscule portions but nonetheless generous free flow buffet servings that you can enjoy to your heart or stomach's content.
Indeed a lot of effort and hardwork goes with handwork to prepare dim sum and feeding the crowd each weekend is a feat that Chef Leong has achieved.
The 1928 colonial building has been conserved and transformed into a boutique hotel -FULLERTON HOTEL which opened in May 2000 and officially launched in 2001

All the dim sums look very refined. But the price sounds expensive to me as I am not a big fan for buffet. ;)
My fav has to be the dumpling of squid ink skin - rather special, dontcha think? And the poster advertising the dimsum weekends: Very decent design! :)
