Martini is having a ball of a time as we threw a banquet at the Jumbo Seafood @ NSRCC with a table for 15 diners. Thanks to Jojo, no it cannot be lunch buffet at Roxy Hotel again or Chef Kang, not good enough and why must be with such grandeur and upmarket at a famous seafood restaurant chain but located at a countryclub, then one would ask.
Reason is simple cos Remy Martin belongs to a house of exclusive fine Champagne cognac and we are referring to a recognised brand with a taste for more refined lifestyles, so the choice is obvious.

However the sampling did not draw us to get anything.You can hear the crunch when you bite on the flaky skin of yam paste which is so crispy yet the scallop embedded in it is so fresh and soft and sweet and this makes this dish truly and artpiece. to savourThe pot of Sharkfin Soup serves more than 15 diners and some had second helpings of this delicacy which we dont get to take so often, only on Martini days for eg.I think I can replicate this dish which is Jumbo signature dish of Egg Tofu with crispy spread of finely chopped spinach. You can mix 6 eggs with soya bean drink and add seasonings; the tray of mixture is thensteamed till cooked. Lunch 11:30– 2:30pm Dinner: 6:00– 10:15pm
Jumbo Seafood chain was founded in 1987 and first setup shop at the popular East Coast Seafood Centre. It's famous for it's Sri Lankan crabs and corporate clients and tourists formed a huge clientele that continued to stream into Jumbo restaurant there every night.
Jumbo Seafood at SAFRA Resort is a distance from where we came from but nonetheless, good food is always a draw to any foodie who will make their way anywhere for it. The restaurant is nestled in a country club with such tranquil setting.
Lunch Menu was already prebooked for by Jojo and this saves us from using extra braincell during lunch to think what to order as we just wanted to sit back and enjoy the company and the mouth-watering food.
The Appetiser makes up of such refreshing chilled marinated jellyfish which has a tangy taste. The crispy fried baby squid is really tasty, good for going down with a mug of beer.
The steamed Red Prawns are freshly caught from the tank and are so fresh that when you peel them, the juice is spurting out in any direction, be careful those with white shirts...
Lastly the fruit platter of papayas, watermelons and rockmelons cuts
Wished everyone has enjoyed themselves thoroughly and here's some moments of reflection of the lunch mood during MARTINI's TIME; I simply cannot just talk food and miss talking about the great company we had:
